Vanessa was born to jazz bassist Gerald Veasley in Philadelphia, PA. When she was 17 years old, she came down to Atlanta, Georgia to study at Clark Atlanta University, where she also tried her hand at modeling. She wasn't accepted at many agencies because of her thickness. But everything changed when she acted as an extra in the film, Drumline. On the set of the movie, Vanessa met director Bryan Barber, who then referred her to a casting agency that set her up with music video work. The rest is history, since that was her jumping off point. Her career since has included appearances in print publications such as Lowrider Girls, Show, Smooth, Smooth Girl, Urban Ink and many more.
