The view is mighty fine from the top for gaming company 2K Sports. After turning heads signing Michael Jordan to grace the cover and be involved in their vaunted NBA 2K series last year, they decided to take it further for the next installment. Not only will NBA 2K12, which will be released October 4th, 2011 (even if there isn’t a real NBA season), will have “His Airness” on the cover for a second straight year, but they will have two more covers featuring basketball legends Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.

“Bringing Michael Jordan to the virtual hardwood last year was a huge success for NBA 2K11; however, we didn’t want to stop there,” said Jason Argent, VP of marketing for 2K Sports. “We’re bringing ‘His Airness’ back to the NBA 2K franchise as part of a multi-year extended partnership, along with two other legendary icons–Larry Bird and Magic Johnson–for a special cover athlete collection representing the NBA’s greatest heroes.”
