It's that time of year again and I'm so ready for some football. Some of you are probably thinking, "What does she possibly know about football or, for that matter, fantasy football?” Well, let me tell you naysayers out there something, last season's "GM (General Manager) of the Year" award wasn't handed to me just because. LOL! As you get ready for your fantasy drafts (I have three in one week!!), I wanted to help out my fellow fantasy footballers with a few Do's and Don'ts. I've thrown in some picks and even a sleeper pick (not giving away all my secrets of course). Take notes!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DO's

Do: Study a fantasy book (my favorite is Street and Smith's)
Do: Rock your favorite team jersey to the draft (it will inspire you)
Do: If you're hosting the draft make sure you clear all breakable items out of the room
Do: List your top five picks in each position before you draft (QB, RB, WR, TE, DEF)
Do: Play in more than one league (more chances of winning)
Do: Use your next to last pick on a kicker (this should be no brainer)
Do: Draft team combos (QB/WR, i.e. Jason Campbell/Santana Moss)
Do: Jump around with your picks, it will confuse your fellow GM's
Do: Split your prize money with Lizz (I kid, I kid LOL)

DON'T's

Don't: Pick the majority of your players from your favorite team (I plan to have at least one Redskin on all my teams)
Don't: Share a team with someone who doesn't have a clue about fantasy football
Don't: Draft a camp hold out player, they never do well as well as expected the next season
Don't: Draft anyone on the Madden cover
Don't: Bring your significant other to the fantasy draft (no time to entertain, this is serious business LOL)
Don't: Always pick the obvious player with the first pick (go with a rookie and then start with the veterans)
Don't: Come to the draft without bringing something for the person who is hosting it (just common courtesy)
Dont: Make a sound effect when someone makes a good or bad pick
Don't: Post photos of yourself on the league page (trust me, I tried it LOL)

Lizz's Top Picks: Peyton Manning, Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson, Kellen Winslow, San Diego Defense.

Sleeper Pick: Calvin Johnson

Good Luck with your drafts everyone! Feel free to write me at lizz@lizzmodel.com with any fantasy questions, football related of course LOL!! To paraphase future Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, when it comes to fantasy football I feel like I'm the best, but you're not going to get me to say that.
