Though the movie only made $11 million domestically, Something New was the first major film to ever have a black woman star in, direct, produce and write it. To forward-thinking Hollywood couple Duan Martin and Tisha Campbell, it's a great start, but one they want to see repeated. With that in mind, the founded the Momentum Experience, a distribution company that intends to help black filmmakers get the deals they deserve.

"What people don't realize," says Campbell. "is that with most movies, you have to have a distributing company. Most of the time [African-Americans] don't really get good deals. So, Hollywood continues to make the money, and gets to decide what we watch."
