If the closest you've come to putting together a meal is ordering a two piece and a biscuit from KFC then it's time to step your kitchen game up. With Thanksgiving a week away, KING went to the "Hip Hop Chef" Cookin' Tye for five recipes that almost any man could handle--because you can't depend on your mom's cooking forever.

Ballin Barbeque Roast Turkey

- 1 12lb to 15lb turkey
- 2 quarts turkey stock
- 2 bottles of Jack Daniels barbecue sauce
- 3 cups of melted butter
- diced onions
- diced celery
- diced carrots

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash turkey, remove neck and giblets and pat dry. Place the turkey in a roasting pan. Combine onion, celery, carrots, 1 quart of turkey stock and 3 cups of water and pour mixture over turkey. Mix together Jack Daniels barbecue sauce and 1 quart turkey stock. Brush mixture all over turkey so that it is completely covered with marinade.

Cover turkey with aluminum foil tent. Bake turkey for 4 hours. Remove aluminum foil tent 20 minutes before turkey is completely done for a crisp brown skin. Transfer turkey to a serving platter. Cool for 20 minutes before carving.
