10. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)

Why's it so bad? In what could be the final role of his career, Sean Connery joins a group of C-list actors to play a band of famous literary characters who moonlight as superheroes. Were producers surprised that teen boys weren't excited by heroes like Dorian Gray and Captain Nemo?

Aftermath: A 16% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an underperforming $66 million domestic box office take were only half the film's problems. If it wasn't for this debacle Connery might still be making movies and Extraordinary Gentleman creator Alan Moore, who became even more disgusted with Hollywood after this film, might actually support the upcoming Watchmen flick.
