Independence Bowl
Oklahoma State vs. Alabama

The loser here will have a bit of explaining to do. The team on the short end of the Independence Bowl scoreboard drops to 6-7 for the year. That's not exactly what either of these high-profile institutions had in mind at season's kick-off. The Alabama front office is so upset with the Crimson Tide's uneven season –Bama was just 2-6 in the SEC- it has already given head coach Mike Shula his walking papers. The school reached out to Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban and Rich Rodriguez about the opening. None gave the Tide the time of day. What, they don't like speedy wideouts like Bama's D.J. Hall? Who knows? All the Crimson Tide organization can much concern itself with right now is figuring out how to stop OSU's highly-potent Bobby Reid-to-Adarius Bowman aerial assault. Do that, interim coach Joe Kines, and the full-time job just might be yours. We're betting he can't. 41-28, Cowboys.

Interesting Fact: With this game, Alabama is making its NCAA-leading 54th bowl appearance.
