In 2006 you showed all in Playboy. Otherwise, though, we've seen very little of you. Why the minimal exposure?
Well, I've been busier than people think. I've been working on this lingerie line for more than two years. Now I'm in 30 stores across the country and 10 stores overseas. And I also had a baby a couple years ago, so I've been Mom full-time too. I've been acting, as well—just not in things you've probably seen [laughs].

Your next feature film, Phantom Punch, can't come out soon enough. Fellas have been itching for a Stacey fix.
[Laughs] Wow, I had no idea. You're just being nice.

Just watch the riots erupt at newsstands once these photos hit the streets.
That feels so good to hear. It's difficult, because there aren't many good roles out there—rather, there aren't many good films out there. It's rare that, at the end of a year, you can say, "I've seen five good films.”

Well, let's see. Last year, there was No Country for Old Men, American Gangster, Grindhouse, Superbad, There Will Be Blood…
OK [laughs]. Point taken. But those aren't scripts that I read, at least. I read a lot of crap. There was a point in my career where I was taking roles just to keep working, regardless of the quality. That's not worth it anymore.

After the success of Clueless, did you expect casting directors to come flocking?
Yeah, but I was only being offered the best friend to the lead, or the girlfriend. I'm bored of that. It put a bad taste in my mouth about the business, so I stepped away for a while. Now, I don't want that to happen again. I'm doing this on my own terms, but it's a real challenge.

Your new hustle is Letters of Marque lingerie. Please say its genesis starts with: "I was standing around naked one day, looking for something to cover my…”
When my daughter was six months old, I was breast-feeding, and I wasn't feeling very beautiful. The only thing I had that I could put on and feel beautiful in was this 150-year-old Victorian combing jacket. I couldn't find anything else new like it, so I decided to make something myself. Now I want to really bring sexy back. I'm sick of girls wearing jeans around their bums to show their thong.

That makes one of us. What makes a piece of lingerie sexy in your eyes?
You can be sexy without being too provocative. Mainly, underwear should hang well on a woman's body. Most important, though, a woman has to feel sexy when she's wearing it. It's all mental. A woman can put on a pair of panties and a wifebeater and feel like the sexiest thing around. I've done that before, and it feels great.

Damn, I knew we should've implemented an interview dress code. The name "Letters of Marque” is unusual. What does it mean exactly?
I was looking through my heritage one day, and it turns out the name "Dash” comes from our great-great-grandfather, a Dutch pirate who landed in Barbados. Because of that, I started researching piracy, and in the middle of a paragraph, I saw this phrase "letter of marque,” and it just looked beautiful. It turns out that it's a historical document.
