Teairra is a singer-songwriter, dancer, actress and model who started her career very early on, getting signed to Def Jam by Jay Z at the age of 17 after she began recording in her cousin's basement at age 15. Before getting signed, she worked with Big Mike in the studio and collaborated with many artists like J-Kwon, Ray J and more.

In the mid-Aughts, she released her first album, Roc-A-Fella Presents: Teairra Mari. This debut album reached #5 on the Billboard 200 album chart and reached #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album charts, making it a solid hit. She started to work on her sophomore album in 2006, but was dropped from the label shortly after because of the sales from her debut album.

Most recently, she's appeared on the reality TV show, Love & Hip-Hop and one of its spin-offs, Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood. She's also proven that she do traditional acting roles and has been featured in films like The Magnificent Cooly-T and Lottery Ticket, as well as the TV show, The Dempsey Sisters. So it would seem that everywhere you turn, you're bound to see Teairra Mari. And that is most certainly not a bad thing.
