My hometown Atlanta Braves do a lot of things consistently: They always have good pitching and fielding and, though it is sometimes overlooked, team speed. In just the past decade, the swift likes of Otis Nixon, Marquis Grissom, Kenny Lofton and Rafael Furcal have all donned Tomahawks jerseys, giving this fan plenty of inspiration as I prepare to dash from first to second base in a whirl of dust. "The one I loved was Kenny Lofton,” declares Chicago Cub Juan Pierre, the amazingly quick centerfielder who thinks he can teach me something I don't know about stealing after my many nights watching the Braves. "He's the one I looked up to. When I was in high school, he was on those great Cleveland teams and he made their offense go.” Just wait till you see me, Juan P.
