Orange Bowl

Louisville vs. Wake Forest

January 2, 8PM, Miami

FOX

What an improbable run. The sports professionals in the preseason knew the team would be better but nobody could have predicted this. 11 wins. A couple of nationally-televised games. Their first BCS game appearance. Maaan, and you thought Wake Forest's out-of-nowhere jaunt to the Orange Bowl was impressive? Louisville's (11-1), which required patching together an offense without running back Michael Bush all year and quarterback Brian Brohm for part of it, may be equally amazing. (Well, it does help having a pair of great hands like Harry Douglas' on your squad…) Still, we can't take anything away from AP coach of the year, Wake's Jim Grobe. The man was simply magical in leading a can't-quit Demon Deacons team (11-2) that trounced Florida State, upset Boston College and won the school's first ACC conference crown since 1970. Louisville will win this semi-shocking meeting, 31-20, but it won't be easy

Interesting fact: While Douglas stands out in the Cardinals' receiver nest, three others caught at least 20 passes and six others had touchdowns.
