Ed Bradley, one of the most powerful voices in American journalism, and an icon for journalists of color, died of complications from leukemia. He was 65-years-old.

Ed Bradley had been with CBS News for 35 years, 26 of those were spent as one of the key players on the 60 Minutes reporting team. At the time, Bradley was one of the few African-American journalists in a high-profile journalism position, a fact that unfortunately remains true to this day. Bradley's bravery and relentless reporting led him to stories such as the Vietnam War where he was wounded, and to the position of White House correspondent - the first African-American to be given the position by CBS.
